The SACC is responsible for holding the regional rounds of national competitions, hosting guest lecturers, and providing a means of communication between Clubs in the south of the country. All SACC competitions are run under IPF rules.

The SACC holds quarterly meetings at which delegates from all affiliated Clubs are expected to attend. The officers are elected every two years at the AGM which is held in Clonmel at the end of November or early December each year.
